Hi there. I've been on CL for only a few days, and it is a really cool site. But, I am having trouble with creating palettes. When I click "Add Palette", it says to name the colors I used. But, I cannot find where I name the colors. Thank you for your help. Also, if you have any other tips about CL, I will accept those too. Thanks!

Also, I really need some help making colors. It doesn't add my color when I click "Add".

Hello & Welcome.

If you scroll back up the palette add page you should see some new form fields to name the colors.

And what does it do when you try and add a new color? Is there a message? Does it take you to another page?

Happy COLOURloving.

As to the "Add Colour" issue . . . I was once stumped by this too. If you add a colour that already exists at COLOURlovers, the screen refreshes and the "colour square" on the left side of the screen will now have the title of whomever created and named that colour. If you create a colour that hasn't been "taken", then you will see a pop-up box that says "Please fill out all required fields" . . . just scroll up to the top of the screen and add your new colour name and that should work.

Good luck and welcome to CL!

@leartiste, could you clarify your question? Do you mean your avatar picture, your profile picture, a photo to use as inspiration when you're creating a palette ... ?

I've created some palettes (and published them) but have now decided to get rid of them. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks!

@darkdeer:

No, there isn't but you can remake/recycle them endlessly by clicking on the "Edit this page" button which is above your palette stats or, for COPASO palettes, by going to the COPASO page and clicking on "Open".

Thanks Onebreath! I hadn't considered that option. Will think of some more interesting things to do with the ones I no longer like...

I'd like to print some of my palates- any ideas on how to do this?

GreenMyEyes

@NermalDiva, you can download a palette into a graphics program and print from there. Under each palette, you see a series of buttons which show you what applications you can download to (ending a sentence with a preposition, I know), such as PS for Photoshop or AI for Adobe Illustrator. hello, can YOu tell me how to make a palette where each of the coulour is mine? thank You!

GreenMyEyes

@cotton.candy, you probably want to start on the color creation screen. Try different colors until you get a message telling you that a color hasn't been named. Then you can name it whatever you like. Once you have a bunch of there (which you can view on your profile page, btw) then you can create a palette where each of the colors is yours. How do you make a palette from colors already established on CL? I cannot seem to figure out how to do this. I've got the colors I want, but cannot get the palette maker to work with them at all. Any help would be appreciated.

@divinemscharity, go to the color you want and copy the 6 digit hexcode (it'll look something like this: #A1B2C3). Then enter (or paste) that code, without the #) in the hexfield for the color you want in your palette. Works the same way whether you're using "Create New" or "COPASO". You can find lots of useful information at this site: Sharing the Love

That works fine, for the first color only. After the first color, none of the colors will transfer to the palette at all. I have tried both basic and COPASO, in 3 different browsers. This is extremely frustrating as it does not work no matter what I do.

Hi, I myself am new. I'm just wondering if anyone might have ideas about new creations. I have already created quite a few things, but I ran out of ideas. Help me if you can, and thank you!

You can check out this group: Designer's Block

it hasn't been updated recently, but hopefully it will help.

Try this: after pasting the hex code for the next color into the next COPASO slot and press TAB. I think COPASO needs a signal to tell it you've finished with something and want the results displayed.

Give me a shout if this doesn't clear up the problem.
