Being home for christmas, I was looking through old family albums, and I came across this picture of my wallpaper as a kid (and my doll apparently doing headstands). I think this wallpaper was one of the things that made me initially obsess over color.

I'd love to see any palettes you have that are inspired by childhood memories. Bonus points if you include pictures. Bonus bonus points if they are embarrassing pictures! :D

Once more...

Every 70's kitchen was these colors if you don't know what this is. Lovely huh? Makes me think of fluffernutters and green jello salad.

I seem to remember some wrapping paper like this.

Toy_Turntable

You know the fisher-price one that came in a little case and had records of these colors?

Totally_Eighties

Thinking of "caboodles" and friendship bracelets and trapper-keepers.

My_Neighbors_Toy

Sandbox memory. I wanted it but it belonged to him.

This is a wonderful idea! I am working on my new childhood suburban living room- "60's". It made a huge impression on me because my parents more or less bought everything new, thus erasing my first childhood home. It was exciting and disorienting all at the same time.

I wish I could see the curtains again. They had waterfalls and birch trees on them.

Okay, child of the '80s here! I grew up on a steady drip of some of the greatest cartoons of all time. When I wasn't watching Care Bears or Strawberry Shortcake, I was glued to the TV for Rainbow Brite. My favorite of the color kids was Patty O'Green. I always did love green. In tribute, I made this:

My parents got married in the 70's, so I grew up surrounded by Harvest Gold, Avocado Green, dark brown, and rusty orange. Our kitchen was gold, the living room had gold curtains and green/gold carpet, the furniture was brown, the carpet in my parents room was sculpted black and orange, their curtains were brown. Our bath towels were these colors; I even had a Tupperware play set in these colors.

The house I lived in as a very little kid had carpet in the kitchen. Why???? That's just wrong! Here's what remember from crawling around on it:

What a fun idea! I made this one a while back. I think the story description is pretty accurate but I want to scan in the picture someday - I'm pretty sure the outfit was homemade and it was polyester. Picture burnt oranges on a little redhaired Annie lookalike!
